		MPI Detailed Performance Standards The MPI Performance Standards are performance-based standards (applicable tests) that were developed for paint & coating products to be MPI approved and listed in the MPI Approved Products List (APL). There are 3 types of MPI performance standards – Intended Use, Detailed Performance and Evaluated Performance Standards. The criteria for MPI product listing approval are periodically modified to require universal performance-based standards developed by MPI (in conjunction with paint manufacturers and paint technologists) to be a benchmark, so that future MPI product approval continues to reflect only quality premium products in industry-defined categories. The Detailed Performance Standards are available individually by MPI Product Number or in a series. The intended use standards are available by series only.
